A sacred evening of films and of wisdom shared by documentary filmmaker Brooklyn Demme, accompanied by Penobscot Grandmother Elder Cindy Fountain. The films are, according to filmmaker Brooklyn “an ongoing prayer for water, indigenous sovereignty, and planetary unity and healing.” These documentaries were filmed on location in the Amazon forest and in Standing Rock, South Dakota, part of the Lakota Sioux Reservation. The films are meant to inspire, uplift, and provide a deeper understanding of the struggles of indigenous peoples to maintain their tribal water rights and their sacred relationship with the land they live upon.
