During Satsang, we will present “Penobscot: A Fight for Ancestral Waters,” a film that will serve as an introduction for the following Saturday’s (Dec. 17) showing of three documentaries by filmmaker Brooklyn Demme and Penobscot Grandmother Elder Cindy Fountain. The first in the Sacred Earth Collective’s Speaker and Film Series. By watching this film about the Penobscot River, we will be able to welcome and to receive Grandmother Cindy more fully as well as the films showing the struggles of indigenous peoples to preserve their cultures and water rights.
